The cyberpunk genre has plenty of style, and the Cyberpunk 2077 gear is certainly going to follow suit. We got a look at the game’s distinctive style in the first gameplay trailer, but today’s first-hand impressions have given us a much better idea of how those clothes play into the game itself.
CD Projekt Red’s official description of the game says “the world of cyberpunks is all about your gear,” and there’s loads of benefit to gearing up with designer clothes and jackets. Those can boost elemental resistances - physical, thermal, EMP, and chemical are all on the list - as well as providing bonuses to the street cred stat.
Game Informer’s preview also tells us that a closet in your apartment houses your jacket options, letting you gear up for any given mission - and, of course, look your best while doing it.
Hopefully Cyberpunk 2077 will hack its way into our list of the best RPGs.
The emphasis on style over substance follows the rules that goveren the original tabletop game that Cyberpunk 2077 is adapted from. The idea was to capitalise on the 1980s collective that called itself the Mirrorshades Group, and who together essentially created the look and attitude of cyberpunk.
If you want to see Cyberpunk 2077 in action and you haven't seen the new trailer yet the definitely give that a watch below.
We don't have a Cyberpunk 2077 release date just yet, which is shame, but CDPR says it's about to start talking more about Cyberpunk 2077, so hopefully we'll know more soon.
