Cyberpunk 2077 will feature both melee and gun combat, with the melee combat being transferred from The Witcher 3. The information was confirmed at E3 by CD Projekt Red associate designer Kyle Rowley.
Players will able to choose between modern-day 'power' weapons, which are similar to modern-day ballistic weapons. There are also futuristic 'tech' weapons which can penetrate through walls (and unfortunate NPCs). The third and final weapon type is 'smart' weapons, which can be used to track enemies. Rowley said those had been added to appeal to players who might prefer RPGs to twitch-shooters and might find the gunplay difficult.

That's even more important than we previously thought as we now know that Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person RPG. We also now know that there are three main Cyberpunk 2077 classes: Netrunners are computer hackers, Techies are mechanical gurus, and Solos are traditional mercenaries. There will also be a full Cyberpunk 2077 character creator, allowing you to choose your character's backstory, as well as their gender and body type.
