Euro Truck Simulator 2 Review

Does playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 leave you relaxed?

It makes make quite relaxed as while I am driving I can listen to live radio furthermore the gameplay is quite calm meaning you don't always have to be aware of if you are going to make a mistake and loss

Oddly, yes. There's something in the monotony of driving down motorways, the motion of windscreen wipers and the constant drone of the engine, that makes Euro Truck a weirdly serene experience.

For a game that is literally driving a Truck to a virtual place for no reason, it's a lot of fun, I will say this, the MP version which is not made by the devs really saved this game from being another 5 second wonder.

It can be relaxing at times, but also when there's a lot of people around it can be quite funny.

Extremely. Even though I listen to music whist driving in real life, there is something aboiaboiut doing it in ETS 2 which makes me feeling relaxed going from point a to point b

How much freedom does Euro Truck Simulator 2 give you?

There's a good selection of jobs available from day one, and when out on the road you are basically free to drive wherever you wish. But this isn't a free exploration of a continent's road networks - you do actually have to do the job, and do it on time.

You are stuck to the roads but you can go pretty much wherever you wish in game. Just remember if you are delivering something to get it to where it needs to be on time

Well, you're stuck to the roads and can't exit your cab, however the truck customization is fantastic as well the ability to change the "type" of trailer you'll receive on specific loads.

How hard is it to make money in Euro Truck Simulator 2?

13th |UKCS| (after 4 days 4 hours play time)

Not that hard. You choose a job and go from point a to point b. Depending on what job you take decides how much you get. You can take out a bank loan as well if you want cash quick

iayad29 | trade.tf (after 15 hours play time)

When you first start off playing the game it is quite long before you get your first 100k, however you can also just take out a bank loan of up to 400k and pay it back after 30 days. Once you open your company and have a few employees your capital would start to increase rapidly daily meaning you now have tons of cash to splash.

You can cheat if you want to, without seemingly and detriment however if you're wishing to go down the other road and truly play, it's fair and encourages safe driving.

How fun are the vehicles to control in Euro Truck Simulator 2?

89
Matt Purslow (after 2 hours play time)

1023 days ago

The replication of actual driving controls - steering, clutch, break, gears, turn-signals, and headlamps - is pretty much unrivaled. Racing games focus on speed and visual detail. Euro Truck is about functional detail; there's an odd form of excitement of doing something in a game that replicates an experience you know so well from the real world. Admittedly driving a HGV isn't quite the same as driving a small hatchback, but the parallels and seeing how accurate they are is compelling.

Very fun, especially at high speeds as you feel invincible with some nice music on in the back ground.

Do vehicles in Euro Truck Simulator 2 handle realistically?

89
Matt Purslow (after 2 hours play time)

1023 days ago

Having only been a passenger in a HGV, my expertise isn't fully applicable to answer this. But I'd say 'partly'. The trucks in Euro Truck do have a sense of weight and heft, but compared to the actual real thing they're a little floaty and accelerate much faster. Physics don't affect you all that much; taking a bend at 50mph probably won't make any difference.

I'm not a truck driver.

Go left or go right!

Euro Truck tasks you with rising from an odd-job freelancer to the head of your own transport empire, so you'll be making decisions on what jobs you take, distance and time of journeys vs how much they pay, what training to take on, what trucks to buy, and where to spend your profits.

Would you buy at full price or wait for a Euro Truck Simulator 2 sale?

89
Matt Purslow (after 2 hours play time)

Euro Truck is surprisingly good fun, and genuinely a good game despite the silly premise and having to share a barn with plenty of other terrible simulations. However, driving down motorways isn't worth the full price of admission. Wait out on a sale.

It's on sale quite often, but I still recommend it at full price, especially if you try the multiplayer (ets2mp)

I bought it whilst it was on sale at 75% off I think. I liked the idea of the game but wasn't keen on the price of it

I would and did buy at full price on the release date 1 minute after release.

It lags during heavy areas of traffic when playing online, however offline on the original intended game, there is no issue at max detail on a 34" screen.
