Michel Ancel wants to make Rayman 4

Ubisoft designer Michel Ancel has made two famous babies in his career so far: Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil. After literally years of rumours it was finally confirmed last year that he’s working on a sequel to the latter game, but it’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from the former. That’s a wrong that Ancel would someday like to right.

For dreams that are almost certainly coming true, check out these exciting upcoming PC games.

It was the sight of a Rayman statue languishing in a second-hand store that prompted the sentiment from Ancel, who says in an Instagram post “we’ll need to bring him back again… for his fourth adventure! Don’t let heroes die.”

There have only been three Rayman games with a number in the title, the last of which was Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc way back in 2003. Yet 2011’s Rayman Origins still falls within the main sequence of the series, as does its 2013 sequel, Legends, which was Rayman’s last outing. Mention of Rayman’s “fourth adventure” suggests Ancel is hoping to make a fully-fledged Rayman 4.

The only hitch is that he’s a busy man. As his post states, another Rayman would only come “after Wild, after BGE2.” Wild is Ancel’s other project: a PlayStation 4 exclusive announced in 2014.

So it’ll be a while before Rayman 4 becomes a reality, but it’s nice to know it is at the very least a dream.
