A good precaution, however, when you take into account how much compute hardware is in Vega 64 vs 1080ti... along with new features that would likely increase performance...
Well, perhaps you should have a look at the professional software results before you write off Vega as a 'weakling' vs 1080ti:
Also, Vega was radically overvolted by AMD to increase yields which greatly increased power draw.
When the GPU is undervolted on stock clocks, Vega draws much less power (in line with nvidia's GPU's) and performance often goes up since thermal throttling is removed which allows Vega to reach and maintain its boost clocks.
Nvidia is essentially running on optimized voltages out the box... AMD does not.
Also, you cannot undervolt nvidia's GPU's without underclocking them as well since the voltages and clocks are tied.
So, undervolting Vega 56 and 64 simply reduces the amount of power delivered to the GPU on stock clocks... and AMD couldn't do this out the door due to having lower yields and no auto voltage tuning.
There's that, along with the fact that the GLOFO manuf. process AMD uses is more suited for lower clock speeds than higher ones.
yeah, the should learn from CD Projekt RED, DRM is nothing but a hassle to the non pirate consumer
Well, that not entirely true. MMOs cant be cracked. I have a feeling most games in the future will end up being server based.
But that will be the death of games for many if that happens. Because EA is notorious for shutting down a server, and imagine trying to play one of your favorite games years from now when a servers been shut down. That will not fly with most users.
MMOs can't be cracked? Owners of private WoW servers beg to differ.
I believe you need to use a controller.
Not, they dont. the guy is way over rated. and a tool.
I can't stand the guy, but when you have over 50 million people as your audience, you get to make the big choices.
