Isn't that the same pilot commander that spoiled the last community event?Reply
stoutswiller Avatar

He didn't spoil it so much as win it. One of the objectives of the event was to hunt down and kill the NPC.

$39.99 USD is beyond insane. Put the money towards buying those games they are going to announce...

Old games: PC classics that are still worth playingOld games: PC classics that are still worth playing

I'd add Ultima VII to this list. I'd also mention looking up eXoDOS on the Internet archive so that people can explore this lost, brilliant era for themselves.
Dean478 Avatar

Absolutely! The fact that we still don't come close to the level of interaction and virtual world simulation in modern games shows how far ahead of its time U7 was.

Watching NPCs in modern games like Assassin's Creed aimlessly walk about cities without any purpose is smoke and mirrors compared to the NPC schedules of U7.

Thanks for the review! I can't believe sound cards have become such a niche over the years. I've still got my original Sound Blaster sitting in its box from 1990. Wing Commander, Wolfenstein and so many other classics became whole new games once that thing was installed.

I still run a Creative X-Fi Titanium to this day. It's a shame EAX features no longer work, but I can't stand my sound being confined to headsets, especially "gaming" headsets. Give me a solid sound card and some decent speakers any day!Reply

I love my X-Fi Titanium, it's one of the reasons I'm still a proponent of discrete audio hardware :)

Absolute nanny state. What was the point of introducing the R18+ classification in the first place?

10% hike on top of the already absurdly overpriced games that are still being charged in USD.

This is a joke.

Most premium new release titles cost $20-30 AUD more on Steam than they do for physical retail copies.... which have always included GST.

This digital price gouging business apparently knows no bounds. And they wonder why our piracy stats are exceeding the rest of the world.

I wonder why.Reply

Will definitely be shopping around more, GMG and direct from developers etc.

Bethesda titles are shockingly priced on Steam for Australia.

Australian Classifications board notes "strong sex scenes" for Mass Effect: AndromedaAustralian Classifications board notes "strong sex scenes" for Mass Effect: Andromeda
Dean478 Avatar
I wouldn't worry. These are the same people that rated a game with first person sexual assault "MA 15+", allowing it on shelves at a time when the "adult" classification didn't exist. But they banned a game featuring zombies because it was "too gory" (Left 4 Dead 2).

They know as much as Jon Snow does about computer games... and we (finally) have an R rating for games now, as we do film and TV, so no problems!
