There's a difference between accidentally killing a teammate in the chaos, and intentionally shooting one.
Agreed with all of what you said. I'd like to add another point. The article basically only focuses on the gaming aspect of VR. But there is enormous potential in business/industry applications.
The focus now is primarily on VR systems as gaming platforms, but once people catch on the near limitless potential it has to revolutionize certain industries (thinking about design, engineering, ...) the interest in this technology will skyrocket. Just pick any topic whatsoever and start fantasizing about ways VR can improve on it, you are guaranteed to think of something.
So yeah, I think the VR developers kinda made a mistake by advertising it as a gaming platform, kinda shoving themselves into a box. The public perception is now skewed to see VR in a gaming context only. If we can get past that in-the-box thinking regarding this technology, it will definitely be here to stay this time.
The current market have horrible fov anyway, so it won't matter much if they release an entry level device with the same shortcoming as the competition.
Yes, there are a few out there (Serious Sam's another one), but my point is that it's far too rare. Also, Black Ops 3 only allows 2 players, not 4, I think(?) so even then they cut down from the console's features.
On the other hand, I totally accept the possibility that I might one of the few PC gamers who cares about split-screen in this day and age...
But it has stealth, does it not?
And thank you! :) Wish I'd caught the videos. I'm rather excited for the game, I admit.
But that was a good explanation, so thanks!
At this moment it doesn't have stealth kills of any kind. You can sneak closer to enemies but then it is same old shooting again. Not sure if you can sneak past groups.
Yet another boring hide behind boxes and regenerate shooter. Hopefully combat will be at least bit faster with mouse and keyboard. Didn't really notice the player using any skills, hopefully that can add some variety. Game really needs some stealth gameplay.
