Wow, a 30% cut? That's pretty hugeReply
panbient Avatar

That sounds huge but I also think it's a safe bet that a major title on Steam sells more than 3x the volume that it does on a publisher specific platform.

Also $60M for Dead Space 2??? How big was the cocaine budget?

I really dug Inquisition. I was a little lukewarm on it at first, and I put it aside for Witcher 3. But when I came back to it this year I got hooked after a bit and blew through all the content and expansions before stopping. Some of the locales were stunning, and the chars were good. Damn fine game.

I made the mistake of trying to do all the MMO sidequests. Burnt me out... I couldn't finish the game : /

The game industry’s value has tripled because of DLC and microtransactionsThe game industry’s value has tripled because of DLC and microtransactions

I mean, there have been SOME benefits to DLC model. It gives developers a way to sell us smaller amounts of new content without having to make an expansion. Unfortunately, these good intentions were pretty warped and DLC has been abused imo

I don't mind DLC, i mind DLC when it's accounced before the game is released, especially when the game doesn't even have anough content or play time to justify the original price. And loot boxes have infected every game and don't only contain cosmetic items but pay to win mechanics as well. Ruining almost every new AAA title that comes out.

It's not like he could 'keep' the citadel, if he were to have claimed it and left CO2, it would have been stolen back and Judge would have achieved nothing. By instead selling to a bidding alliance, the Keepstar is now out of CO2's reach.

To steal ISK and break friendships is hard in EVE. But to hand the stolen assets to enemy factions is by far the most brutal action you could make. For CO2 to go to war with The Imperium now, they'd have to fight against their own funds. GigX would have been forced to chose to destroy his own stolen Titan (that is if he weren't perma-banned).

This was about as demeaning as The Judge could be in leaving the faction. He could have cut ties and gone through proper forums. He wouldn't have left empty handed. It certainly wouldn't be 5 years worth of value, but it would have been good for him. Instead he chose to screw over CO2. Good on him.

Like, a lot of them.

I don't think we should conflate the legitimate criticisms with the bat-shit crazy ones. Calling for death or bodily is what I consider to be batshit crazy
