"3800 items, 25 NPCs, 350 enemies, 16 bosses, and 27 biomes"
If there was ever a reason for me to stay away it'd be the fear of not knowing what the **** to do
I liked SWG, not going to lie but it had far greater issues than NGE. It had one of the most absurd grouping "systems" in probably any mmo I've played(at least up to *that* point in time). I remember it pissing me off so much that I literally rage quit and never turned back. What was so wrong with it? There was something about joining a group and playing some sort of solo-quest/mission type of game and flying cows forbid that you followed someone during it - they'd rage harder than a LoL player... That really killed it for me, beside that it was a really fun and deep game, with one of the most crazy macro systems I've ever seen in a mmo, at that point you could basically make a bot - in the game, legitimately!
People raged at you for following them because you were following somebody in a solo questing group and leeching their experience by being near them. Those groups were for people who wanted to quest alone but wanted the higher level missions the terminal gave you for being in a group.
You learn to have fun in games. That's about it.
you can learn having fun. I'm sure you know how to take cover, smoke out before moving from cover while your team suppresses the enemy, then when you make it across you do the same for them. I bet you also learned how important is team work. that's what keeps you alive.
As a company you have to protect your IP or you run the risk of future battles being extremely difficult to win. It's just the way it is. There's a junkload of employees relying on paychecks from Zenimax and they have a responsibility to protect them.
I couldn't agree more. This was just a blatant copy and when money is involved(in any way) that's where the real problem is. They could probably have flown under the radar if they weren't trying to piggyback their "other" game on doomrl.
Well, you could argue that the PC doesn't have the technology it'll have 10 years from now today. Ah yes, the days of the Amiga CD32, one of those consoles where they actually ported PC games over to it. Yeah, it's just as bad as you'd imagine it to be. Creating bad PC ports is a terrible thing and is not something that should ever be accepted. It's quite common which is the worst part.
I hear you. there should not be any bad ports at all and it is going to take some time. But I rather have a slightly bad ported game than nothing at all. But you are right its not excusable. We want more than that and we will get it eventually.
So it's basically like vegans trying to force their way of life onto you? PC gaming has been a lot better than it currently is. The mere existence of consoles is bad for PC because the developers will aim for the consoles when creating games rather than the PC. You sell more games on consoles than you do on the PC, it's just a simple business choice. We might be at the turning point in a few years where finally the PC will outdo the consoles. But until then we get terrible PC ports with games clearly made for consoles and not a PC.
I see it more like vegans are the console gamers and meat eaters are the pc gamers, but what ever. ANyway, Telling someone about your experience is not forcing your believes. It's call having a conversation. Now about the pc world being better in the past...hmm. I'm 39 years old and I do not remember a time where pc had the technology we have today. Now, the reason you see a lot of tittles badly ported is a good thing. At least they are porting it. I remember a time when pc would not get it at all. It will get better.
