Cities: Skylines review snippet How active is the Cities: Skylines mod scene?
Pretty good, especially if you enjoy graphics mods. However, there are not many mods that change game play dramatically. Which is understandable, it would be a big project for a modder. The game is still new, so perhaps we will start seeing some of the sweeping mods down the road, like you find for games like Skyrim which have absolutely amazing modding communities.

Minecraft review snippet Would you recommend Minecraft to children? Why?
Yes. Single player especially so. The game has no dialogue, so any fear of them picking up bad words isn't there. The building portions of the game are like a version of legos that I only wish I could have had growing up. If you are not fond of combat, there is a free build mode. As well as mods, if you are savy enough, to make the game a perfect fit for your child.

Fallout 4 DLC on PC won't be detained by timed console exclusivesFallout 4 DLC on PC won't be detained by timed console exclusives

Old World Blues was funny. I think because they bent the rules a tiny bit with how conversations in Bethesda games work, were only one character can talk at a time. Since you had several talking at once, plus they were all brilliantly voice acted, it felt like sketch comedy almost.

Bullet Train is Epic's first big step into the world of VRBullet Train is Epic's first big step into the world of VR

To be honest, it looks like everything I was afraid the new wave of VR gaming would turn into. More or less an arcade style shoot-em-up. I think it comes down to, there is only so much you can do without a keyboard or controller. But, that is perhaps not as immersive as using your hands for actions. Eventually they'll come up with something, I'm sure. I hope that they don't lose people interest before that. This game could actually be fun, who knows! Their concept video doesn't inspire very much confidence from me though.

I have been waiting for a game that is as conducive of social interactions as SWG seemed to be. I don't know if SC is going to be it, but I am always excited when I hear about these parts of games.

I guess thinks like that are more likely to come with community made mods

Perhaps, it would be a huge project I imagine to do it right, whether a mod or DLC. I've been waiting for that mod though since it came out :p

This is something that felt off to me. I hope weather is something they will tackle eventually. I get bored since I always feel like I am just building in southern California (which I guess the original sim cities literally where simulating in a way). I need snow and rain!Reply

Topic of the Week: What terrible things have you done online that you regret?Topic of the Week: What terrible things have you done online that you regret?

This story isn't about being mean to other people, but I think on a personal level it was a terrible thing as I cringe to think back to it. Once in WoW, on moon gaurd, after seeing the many calls in general chat for erp, decided to see what the hullabaloo was about. Lied about being a girl, he was happy to enough to take me at my word. I won't hash out too many personal details, but I liked it more than I expected and never felt more icky >.<

A less weird story, in SWG-EMU (star wars galaxies private servers folks are working on) when they introduced tents, I had a good bit of fun blocking the entrances to star ports and other buildings before being politely asked by mods to stop. I made a more attempt of feigning ignorance towards the consequences of my actions and turned away from.... camping (duh duh tch) in door ways. I did regret it though, I always feel bad when I get called out :(

(Edit: I regret trying to make that last sentence work more than anything else)
