can shed light on why it's taking disproportionately long. Loading stuff onto the GPU and drawing stuff at the same time introduces something called threading, threading is in simple terms doing 2 things at once. Threading precludes mutating something and looking at it at the same time so to do that we have to stop and wait for a window to make changes safely, this is done in game code, but the graphics driver in DX11 also does this and in a very inefficient way to guarantee safety in a lot of different theoretical situations. This is one of the things DX12 & Vulcan are being designed to solve. This issue will probably be resolved by a driver update, failing that a patch, it would be nice if Firaxis let us turn the animations off entirely though as they're quite annoying esp. at the 10-20 fps they run at on my machine.Reply

Agreed, I would prefer a 10-15 second loading time into missions than 30sec to 2 minutes. After all, loading a game from the main menu takes that 10-15 seconds.

I'd say the horror is similar to amnesia but it has gentle pacing meaning you aren't overwhelmed by it and have plenty of time to recover your nerve between. The game knowingly pulls it's punches because it knows following through shatters the illusion. It really is an unmissable experienceReply

Until Dawn this weekend, then SOMA at some point I suppose. Stupid fascinating horror games.

Also your Most Played thing doesn't have dota in my profile, despite it being my most played game by far.

Dota and TF2 currently are having issues because they are stored on steam differently to most games, this will be fixed

More Steve Hogarty.
The Page Up/Down & Home/End keys don't work.
The Top bar is ridiculously massive.
