How was the performance on PC? What setup did you run and what settings? The last game was horribly optimized for pc.

Thanks.

Jordan Forward Avatar

Played the bulk of the game on ultra with an Intel i5 @3.2GHz, 16GB of RAM, Nvidia GTX 970, Windows 10 setup. No issues at all so far, although a lot of dropped frames when using ShadowPlay.

Also been playing it at home with an 8GB of RAM and an RX 480 - still no problems to report, although I've haven't messed about with graphics settings on this setup.

Hope this helps!

There are a couple of jump-scares, but generally the scares come from atmosphere and gore. Compared to Outlast et al, you should be fine!

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus tears up New Orleans, but focuses too heavily on gunplayWolfenstein 2: The New Colossus tears up New Orleans, but focuses too heavily on gunplay

I suspect there will be more in the rest of that game that shows the evils of the villains you fight. It was the same in the new order, there are levels that don't show that side all that much and others that do. This new Orleans mission seems to be more about the spectacle and set pieces (which makes it ripe for a demo since that is the main focus of these games after all).

I can't imagine that they would remove those elements since part of the praise of the first game was about how it could somehow have those grounded moments, in a game where you also shoot nazis on the moon and have bits of humour. Without them feeling at odds with each other or like an ill conceived parody.

If I remember correctly the marketing and previews for the original never touched on those elements much either. Which is why it surprised everyone.
Jordan Forward Avatar

Hi, Kinth! Thanks for your comment, that's exactly how I feel about the first game.

I'm hoping that this is just a one off as I love the tone of The New Order. What felt uncomfortable about the New Orleans section was that the whole city was a ghetto being purged by Nazis, which is exactly the sort of situation where you need that grounded tone.

Cheers!

I'm looking forward to The Surge. Have you gotten a date for the review embargo yet?
Jordan Forward Avatar

Hi there, the embargo drops tonight at 11PM British Summer Time. We'll have a full written review and a performance analysis going up at the same time. Enjoy!

How the heck can Nyx shoot anything with her hair in front of her face? What's next? A cyclops champion with no depth perception.

It's quite the fringe.

The time I got team-killed by Rainbow Six Siege's biggest showboatThe time I got team-killed by Rainbow Six Siege's biggest showboat

There are a few hacks to get around it, I've seen plenty of accidental Fuze TKs of 2+, too. These kills were spaced out across the match's starting phase so it's hard to put any really specific time-frame on it - I wasn't aware of what was even going on until I'd been killed.

I've also experienced this on Terrorist Hunt, though it wasn't the whole team that was killed, and the guy got banned by BattlEye before the match ended. Similar intention.

Sheltered review snippet How bleak is the end of the world in Sheltered?
About as bleak as you'd expect it to be. There's all the usual: cannibalism, abandonment, murder, hopelessness etc. All the post-apocalyptic miseries are there, but when you don't care for the characters it's all just scenery.

This review was based on a full release build I was given access to by Team 17. It's not a review of the Early Access version of the game. Hope that clears things up.

To my knowledge it hasn't been released in Korea yet, so I doubt 2016 will be the year... Still will continue hoping for an announcement of translation though :)

War Thunder review snippet What's your favourite tank in War Thunder and why?
The StuG III tank destroyer is my favourite tank so far. It's gun is devastating and it's low, sloped superstructure makes it both hard to take out and visually unique.

Just Cause(TM) 3 review snippet How much fun are the weapons in Just Cause(TM) 3?
Just Cause 3's arsenal is mixed, and not all the weapons are satisfying to use. While rocket launchers and grenades reward the player with a dazzling firework display, assault rifles, handguns and SMGs are decidedly lacking any punch.
