Terraria 1.3 patch announcement teased in mad minecart dash trailer

Terraria 1.3

June 30th - save the date. A new teaser video for Terraria has given us all a date, and that date has something to do with the highly anticipated 1.3 patch.

Check out the video below that teases an overhaul to The Underworld’s biome, in a mad and daring stunt.

Is it only me who’s reminded of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the SEGA Master System?

“We were all simply blown away at what a difference in "depth" the new background makes to the atmosphere of the biome - as just one example.” said lead developer Cenx. “Of course, you may also encounter a few other "surprises" along the way...but they will only appear when they are ready. So make sure you stay tuned for the duration.”

We’ll be keeping our eye out on Saturday to find out what exactly is going to be spoiled, so check back then for the latest. If you can't wait till then, you can check out the "known" features that are touted to be coming in the new patch.

They are, but they're still supporting Terraria with these small patches. Pretty cool!

It's amazing, it truly is. An awesome game so it's great to see they're still working on it. Like I wrote in the video, I hope they at some point add some minor automations to mining, they have the carts and rail system in place. Just need to put a drill on the cart with an engine and have it go to town!

This makes me want to go back and play Terraria again. Last I played, I put in 83 hours before I was able to tear myself away, but that was quite some time ago. If only I didn't have so many games in my backlog to get through :s

It's fantastic to see they're still supporting it. That's almost unheard of 4 years after release.
