This could be the first video of World of Warcraft Classic

We might have just gotten our first look at World of Warcraft's classic servers, at least according to one redditor.

If Warcraft's not your thing, we've got you covered with our list of the best MMORPGs available on PC.

Now, from the outside, this tweet from Blizzard looks like it could be using stock footage of vintage World of Warcraft, but redditor jpedrote52 has different ideas:

It shows what initially looks like classic WoW footage, but not quite - as jpedrote52 points out, it’s definitely not captured in the current WoW engine, with reduced draw distances and old versions of character models.

But it also wasn’t captured in the original engine: there are high-definition shadows, which jpedrote52 says weren’t introduced until the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, which came out four years after the base game.

What does it all mean? We don’t know. But it sure seems like it might be what the game looks like on World of Warcraft's upcoming Classic servers. Maybe someone in the Blizzard marketing department asked the WoW Classic team to whip up some footage for the anniversary. Maybe.

Looks pretty sweet. Glad they (so far) didn't go with the new models, would look weird in the old setting.
