Following its console release in October last year, WWE 2K16 will powerslam its way onto our PCs on March 11. What’s more, it’ll launch with all of the base game’s DLC inclusive. And two variations of The Terminator, apparently.
What’s the opposite of wrestling games? Probably one of our best strategy games for PC.
So I assume Arnie’s double inclusion here relates back to Triple H’s, ahem, interesting Wrestlemania entrance last year, however it’s been a while since I’ve tuned into WWE proper. Perhaps those who still do can clarify this for me.
In any event, both the T-800 from the original Terminator movie and the T-800 as he/it appears in Terminator 2: Judgment Day will be included in 2K16’s character roster - which is the largest there’s ever been in any WWE game to date.
Once entered into the squared circle, players can make use of more than 30 new moves, including the Corner Enzuiguri and the Standing Crossface Chickenwing. Beyond the standard list of current wrestlers, the Legends Pack reintroduces the Big Boss Man, Dusty Rhodes, Lita, Mr Perfect, Trish Stratus and the late ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper.
Speaking of legends, the 2015 Hall of Fame Showcase will allow players to revisit some of the best bouts from yesteryear, including:
- ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage vs Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts
- Rikishi vs The Rock
- Alundra Blayze vs Paige
- Larry Zbyszko and Arn Anderson vs Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes
- Tatsumi Fujinami vs Ric Flair
- The Bushwhackers (Butch Miller and Luke Williams) vs The Natural Disasters (Typhoon and Earthquake)
- The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) vs Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray)
“We’re excited to announce that WWE 2K16 is currently in development for Windows PC and will release worldwide on March 11, 2016, mirroring the in-game content from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions,” says 2K.
WWE 2K16 is due to release on March 11 for £29.99/$49.99. Steam pre-orders come with a ten percent discount that drops that price tag to £26.99/$44.99.
